Join us to stand in Fearless Friendship with our neighbors as SCOTUS (Supreme Court) decides on the travel ban. In this sacred silence we recommit ourselves to welcoming strangers, fighting the attitudes and laws that favor one group over another, and defending the values so important to our democracy.
We are Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, others faiths, and no specific faith, people who consider themselves spiritual or spirited, all who hunger for an experience beyond the words that barrage us daily.
We begin with a brief welcome followed by 20 minutes of silence. We will assemble at the amphitheater and conclude our Standing Silence by walking to the nearby Gandhi statue located on the grounds of the MLK National Historic site.
You are welcome to stand as you are able or bring stools/folding chairs or mats for seated meditation.
